PULSED SIGNAL THERAPY
A Non-invasive medical device
Used extensively across Europe, PST (Pulsed Signal Therapy ) is a unique form of electromagnetic therapy for healing damaged structures such as cartilage, intervertebral discs, bones, the attachment points of tendons, ligament structures and the articular capsule within all joints. It has also been proven in the treatment of osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, stress fractures and the mal-union of broken bones.
PULSED SIGNAL THERAPY also called as Electromagnetic Regeneration Therapy is an innovative technological advanced form of therapy that uses a non-invasive medical device to treat arthritis, osteoporosis, accident, sports and repetitive stress injuries. It involves directing a series of magnetic pulses through injured tissue. Each magnetic includes a tiny electrical signal that stimulates cellular repair.
What makes this therapy unique is that it merges traditional and non-traditional Medical care. While the therapy harnesses the body’s own ability to heal itself (a non-traditional approach), the technology has gone through scientifically rigorous clinical trial with successes and patient benefits reported in numerous prestigious medical journals.
A pulsed signal therapy treatment
-
is non-invasive
-
is surgery-free
-
is drug-free
-
is pain-free
-
is effective in over 80%-83% of cases (as confirmed in research)
-
has no side effects
-
stimulates cartilage and repair
-
stimulates osteoblast formation
-
can delay or completely eliminate the need for surgery and inherent risks that go with it.
The treatment is administered in 9 -12 sessions of 60 mins each, conducted under the supervision of a trained PST Therapist. The goal is to reach both short and long-term reduction of pain, improve physical resilience and increase joint function. Read more about PST Treatment.
What is PST
Unlike traditional magnetic field therapy, with PST, the magnetic field only serves as the “carrier” for the electrically pulsed signals. The magnetic field allows these signals to penetrate the injury unchanged. Without the magnetic field the pulsating signals would be distorted by varying density of surrounding tissue.
PEMF
Pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) have been used in the treatment of non-union & related problems in bone healing and pain relief, due to osteoarthritis and traumatic joint damage, since the 1970s with a relatively consistent success rate of 70-80% in several countries, since the most of these claims were based on anecdotal observations, and different PEMF devices had varied characteristics, an effort was made to determine whether a pulsed electromagnetic field with specific parameters might provide superior and more consistent results since .
How does PST Work
Research has shown that when stress is placed on a joint, a low power electrical signal is created, the natural signals tells the body to repair damaged or worn tissues and to maintain the health and proper functioning of the joint. Sometimes, the signal is distributed as a result of aging, injury or disease. When it happens, the body is unable to repair the damage itself. This results in pain, inflammation and loss of proper function in the joint.
EMRT is unique in that it mimics the body’s natural signal, activating the normal healing process and stimulates the growth and repair of the damaged tissue.
